About the Route
The Clew Bay Bike Trail curves around the coastline of Clew Bay, and visits Clare Island. This area is popular with visitors and its easy to see why – the scenery is absolutely magnificent and the towering peak Croagh Patrick, Ireland’s holy mountain overlooks the entire route.

The trail passes through some of Mayo’s most attractive seaside towns and along the way there is plenty to see and do. Here is a quick introduction to some of them, starting in Westport and following the route clockwise.
